Evidence and learning

Understand what NIAAH is doing, what its current figures describe, and what the next stage needs to establish.

Current participation figures

Participation is a starting point

The following Physician Track figures were reported for October 2026. They describe listed participants and reported matching activity. They do not establish current participation rates, sustained mentoring, educational completion, or improvements in health.

Different stages require different evidence

Scholars

Next measurement priorities include clear participant definitions, mentoring engagement, retention, student progression, and participant feedback.

Clinician preparation

Course participation and completion are distinct from professional certification. Any future institutional engagement needs agreed learning and practice measures.

Family Care

The study, toolkit, and proposed education model are in development. No pilot effectiveness findings are presented. Development and testing must precede claims of effectiveness.

A shared learning agenda

For prospective engagements, we seek to agree what will be delivered, how progress will be measured, who will collect information, and how limitations will be reported. Early development work may produce a reviewed tool or a pilot learning report; it should not be described as demonstrated clinical impact.

Measurement and evaluation partnerships are welcome.
